setting some rules about posting ads all over your forum.
A few posters are posting "drive-by" ads under a number of different categories to promote gambling links.
These don't appear to relate to the categories or specific topics.
I've watched an excellent business forum trashed by all the spammers and drive by posters, with no discussion taking place. Eventually, more and more spammers will add the non-moderated forums to their list. Your traffic may graw, but only with "free-for-all" type pages of ads, spam, and scams.

Hi Dennis.
I know from experience that the spammers will bring it down if allowed.
Also I know that spammers won't listen to instructions.
One thing that we've done just now is correct some permissions settings for a couple of the forums that were allowing guests to posts. This should help in the future...
